Tugan Sokhiev is a Russian conductor who was born on October 21, 1977 in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia. He studied conducting at the Moscow Conservatory and went on to win several prestigious international competitions, including the 3rd International Prokofiev Conducting Competition in St. Petersburg.
Sokhiev has served as the music director of several orchestras, including the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse in France and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. He is known for his dynamic and passionate conducting style, as well as his ability to bring out the best in the musicians he works with.
